Red linen Lisette dress

Lisette continental dressI have been holding on to this red linen for a few months. I could not decide what dress I wanted to make with it.  With the heat wave going on, I plunged into my Lisette ContinentalPortfolio dress pattern.  I wish I would have cut the hips a smidge bigger.  It’s still ok, but I’d prefer a but more looseness as linen is so unforgiving. Like, I had to put shapewear underneath because I felt jiggly. I also changed the neckline because I wanted something a little wider.  I feel like in this picture I am channeling a 1970’s airline hostess, without the awesome legs.

I thought solid red might be a bit ho-hum in this shape so I used an embroidery stitch on my machine for the first time.  I love it. Just enough pop to brighten it up.  Working with linen was much easier than I had anticipated. This is my second linen project this month and I definitely want to buy more.
